News Center - A detention order has been reportedly issued against 50 women in 14 cities as part of an investigation launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. In the morning, police raided many homes in Amed (Turkish: Diyarbakır) and detained 22 women.

22 women have been taken into custody in Amed as part of the investigation. The names of some detained women are:
Peace Mothers’ Assembly member Besile Narin, the Free Women’s Movement (Kurdish: Tevgera Jinên Azad –TJA) activists Figen Ekti, Mekiye Ormancı, Gülcihan Şimşek and Bedia Akkaya, Women’s Academy members Figen Aras and Sultan Esen. The lawyers of the detained women announced that the names of other detained women may be reported today.
In Izmir, a woman named Dilan Akpolat has been detained as part of the same investigation.
