The HDP will submit its verbal defense for the closure case to the court on April 11. After submission of the verbal defense, the court's rapporteur will release a report. The court will determine a date for the meeting. On the meeting date, the members of the court will discuss the closure case.
A two-thirds majority, or votes of 10 of the 15 Constitutional Court members, are necessary to close the party. If the court issues the closure of the party, the politicians of the HDP will be banned from politics for five years after the decision is published in the Official Gazette.
