TJA: “Immediately release our friends”

TJA reacts to the arrest and detention of many people, including the activists of TJA. The TJA states that the arrests are unlawful and demands their jailed friends be released immediately.
News Center- Free Women’s Movement (TJA) has issued a written statement about the arrests and detentions. The statement notes that on the eve of International Women's Day, all-out attacks were launched against all opponents, particularly women.
“Arrests are unlawful”
“The administrators of the MEBYA-DER (the Solidarity with Families Who Lost Their Relatives in the Cradle of Civilizations Association) and TJA activists Ayşe Tutmaz, Ayşe Çelikbilek, Hülya Vurar, who were held in detention unlawfully since February 27, have been released on bail while Yüksel Elmas has been jailed. In addition, our TJA activist Beritan Önen was illegally jailed by the court yesterday. We demand the immediate release of our friends,” says the statement.
The statement also says, “We do not recognize these fascistic decisions that the male state imposes on women. As women, we say once again that we will fight against all kinds of detention, arrest, violence, oppression, exploitation, and special war policies, and that we will never give up our struggle for freedom, and we will defend our labor and social values to the end. Long live our women’s resistance!”
