News Center- The rally organized by the Labor and Democracy Platform in Êlih (Batman) to celebrate the International Workers’ Day has started. In the morning, thousands of people, including workers, members of labor unions and political parties from different cities gathered at Turgut Özal Junction and marched to 8 March Women’s Park.

 Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-chair Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar, Confederation of Public Workers' Unions (KESK) Central Executive Board member Döne Gevher and Petrol İş Batman Branch president Veysel Kartal will be speakers at the rally.

Carrying banners reading, “Women will bring both peace and spring”, “We will get what we deserve” and “Long Live May Day”, the people chanted slogans such as “We will win by resisting” and “Bîji yek Gûlan (English: Long Live May Day)”.
