“They want to get revenge against the Syriac people for ISIS”

Kongreya Star Central Executive Board member Gulixan Tahir reacted to the Turkish airstrike on Tell Tamer and its villages and she said they have doubts about the presence of Russia in the region. “The silence of Russia against attacks will pave the way for new invasion attacks.”

Hasekê- Turkey has launched military operations in Syria since 2016. After entering Serekaniyê and Girê Spî in October 2019, Turkey began to attack Tell Tamer, the town of Hasekê. Many villages and historical places of the town were destroyed during the Turkish airstrike. For about a week, Turkish warplanes have shelled the town’s Dirdara, Şêx Elî, and Til Şinan villages.
Kongreya Star Central Executive Board member Gulixan Tahir spoke to our news agency about Turkish attacks on the villages.
Gulixan Tahir indicated that the attacks on the villages never stop for about a week. “Civilians have been targeted in the attacks. They want to destroy the unity of the Kurdish, Arab, and Syriac people. They use such policies to occupy the region easily. The attacks on the Til Şinan village show this. They want to do what ISIS failed to do against the Syriac people on February 23, 2015. They want to get revenge against the Syriac people for ISIS.”
“We have doubts about the presence of Russia in the region”
“We have doubts about the presence of Russia in Tell Tamer,” Gulixan Tahir said, adding, “Why is Russia here? Is it here to serve the people in the region or to protect its own interests? However, it seems that the presence of Russia means targeting civilians. The Turkish state and its armed groups violate the agreement signed in October 2019. Despite being targeted in the attacks, the civilians return to their villages because they know what the invaders want to do.” Gulixan Tahir criticized the silence against these attacks.
“A solution should be found”
Gulixan Tahir demands Russia to act within the scope of its duty and responsibility. “The silence of Russia against attacks will pave the way for new invasion attacks. A solution for the invasion attacks should be found. Turkey should leave this region so that the displaced people can return to their lands.”
