The siege on Kobani claims the life of a child after he was denied medical treatment

The siege on Kobani and blocked access roads caused the death of a 12-year-old child who could not be transferred to Aleppo University Hospital for immunodeficiency treatment

News Center – Since January 18, jihadists of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham have imposed a tight siege on the city of Kobani, leading to a paralysis of movement and the closure of the roads leading to it, amid warnings of serious humanitarian consequences for the residents, especially patients who need treatment in the hospitals of Aleppo.

On Saturday, February 14, 12-year-old Dildar Rizan Hasso passed away after his health deteriorated due to an immunodeficiency disease known as “BRIZ.” His family reported that the siege imposed on the city by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham prevented his transfer to Aleppo University Hospital to continue his treatment.

The child’s family confirmed that his supervising doctor at Aleppo University Hospital had stressed the necessity of continuing his treatment inside the hospital, where the required medication is available. However, the road closures prevented his transfer, which led to the worsening of his condition and ultimately to his death.

Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham jihadists have continued to impose a strict siege on the city of Kobani since January 18, despite the existence of an agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces and several meetings held between the Kobani administration and the Governor of Aleppo. The siege, however, remains in place to this day
