‘The courage of Afghan women is a source of inspiration’

“The courage of Afghan women is a source of inspiration,” Malala Yousafzai, a women’s rights activist and the youngest Nobel Prize laureate, said in a social media post on Sunday.

News Center- “Today, I want to share a message with my powerful Afghan sisters. You are fighting back against the Taliban’s crimes, as they ban you from going to school and try to erase you from public life. You continue resisting. Your courage is a source of inspiration,” Malala Yousafzai, a women’s rights activist and the youngest Nobel Prize laureate, said in a social media post on Sunday.

In a video on social media platform X, she said, “Afghanistan is marking another dark anniversary. It is hard to process that it has been three years since the Taliban banned girls from going to school. This is all part of their ruthless, misogynist campaign to deny women and girls participation in work, education and public life.

Speaking directly to Afghan women, she said, “You are the true force of resistance against the Taliban. You refuse to give up hope. Millions of you also want to keep learning even if you are banned from school. You are finding creative ways to learn from your homes, through mobile phones, television and radio. Your power and courage are what motivate me. You keep me hopeful.

“But today is a dark reminder of all the Taliban have stolen from you. I want you to know that I, along with so many allies from around the world, will keep fighting with you to hold the Taliban accountable. People everywhere are listening and standing in solidarity. Together, we will not rest until your rights are restored.”
