“The Conference of Êzidî Women's Union is a response to the attacks”

“Êzidî women gave a strong response to the invasion attacks by holding this conference far from their country,” said women attended the Conference of Rojava Êzidî Women's Union.

Shahba - Êzidî Women's Union held its first founding conference with the motto, “With the thought of the Democratic Nation, the Êzidî Women Will Attain Victory.” 300 Êzidî women representatives from Aleppo and Afrin and Afrin Democratic Autonomous Administration members attended the conference.

Caziya Hewran, the chairperson of the Umbrella Council of the Free Êzidî Women's Movement in Germany, also attended the conference. She emphasized the importance of the conference held in Shahba Canton.

“We attended the conference with the free women's resistance. Although this conference was held in exile, the main purpose of the conference was to give a strong response to invasion and attacks. The people of Afrin had to settle in Shahba due to all kinds of inhuman practices by the Turkish state. Nobody can destroy the will and existence of the Kurds. As Êzidî Kurds, we defend freedom; we have no intention of attacking anyone. If there is an attack on us, we will respond it in the strongest way and defend our land. We commemorate once again all the women who were martyred for this cause. Even though Êzidî women were subjected to genocide and all kinds of inhuman practices, they still protect themselves and their society. We will grow our struggle against invasion attacks and genocide plans with the spirit of the conference.”

“We will strengthen women's organization with the spirit of the conference”

Afrin Êzidî Women's Union Co-chair Suad Hiso spoke to our news agency about the conference. Hiso told us that they will protect the will that emerged at the conference in every sphere of life. “300 delegates attended the conference. The conference passed very well with the knowledge and experience of women. We will actualize the results of the conference in our works. We will strengthen the struggle for Êzidî women's organization. With the thought of the democratic nation, the Êzidî women will attain victory.”
