Teacher arrested in Morocco for sexually abusing his students

A teacher working for a private school in the city of Casablanca, Morocco, has been arrested for sexually abusing his underage students.

Morocco - The investigating judge at the Casablanca Court of Appeal has launched a preliminary investigation against a French teacher working for a private school in the Aïn Sebaâ suburb of Casablanca on charges of "sexually abusing" several of his underage students. The teacher was arrested yesterday, according to local reports. The sexual assault revealed after one of his students told her mother that she had been sexually abused by her teacher. The mother first reportedly tried to meet with the teacher; however, the teacher refused to meet the mother. Then, the mother filed a criminal complaint against him.

There are many victims

According to the local sources, the teacher sexually abused many children under 15. Until now, four victims have been identified. One of the victims was even forced to have an abortion. The teacher reportedly rented an apartment in Casablanca and sexually abused his students in the apartment.

Last year, Morocco was shaken by the impact of a case known as “sex for grades” at the Faculty of Law in Settat and the reports on sexual harassment in public schools, including on traditional university campuses and at the Association of Students of the National School of Business and Management of Oujda (ENCGO).
