TAJÊ meets Iraqi Minister of Displacement and Migration

The Yazidi Free Women’s Movement (TAJÊ) had a meeting with Iraqi Minister of Displacement and Migration about the return of Yazidis to Shengal as part of its campaign called, “Be the voice of self-defense against femicide.”

Shengal (Sinjar)- A delegation of the Yazidi Free Women's Movement (Kurdish: Tevgera Azadiya Jinên Êzîdî-TAJÊ) had a meeting with Evan Faeq Yakoob, Iraqi Minister of Migration and Displaced, as part of the “Be the voice of self-defense against femicid” campaign launched by the TAJÊ.

 At the meeting, many issues such as the decision of the Iraqi government to close remaining camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Kurdistan Region, which host tens of thousands of Yazidis, the return of Yazidis to Shengal, the support given to Yazidi families, the ongoing Turkish attacks on Shengal and their impact on Iraq were discussed. The delegation members requested the ministry to fulfill its duties and responsibilities. Minister Evan Faeq Yakoob told the delegation members that they would focus on the discussed issues.

After the meeting, the delegation members returned to Shengal.
