News Center- In April 2019, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) participated in a military coup that removed Omar al-Bashir after months of demonstrations against his 30-year rule. The war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) erupted in Sudan on April 15, 2023.

According to the United Nations, the war started in Sudan has created the world's largest displacement crisis, leaving more than 16,000 people dead. 25 million people, half of Sudan's population, need humanitarian assistance and 8.6 million people are displaced inside and outside Sudan.

“The war in Sudan is fueling a humanitarian disaster of epic proportions with no end in sight," the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said Sunday on social platform X.  “Sudan, once a generous host to over 1M refugees, is now the largest internal displacement crisis.”
