News Center — The Women's Protection Units (YPJ) are continuing their negotiations in the Syrian capital Damascus to discuss the formula for integrating the units into the structure of the Ministry of Interior.

According to private sources for Hawar News Agency, the meeting attended by Women's Protection Units (YPJ) leaders, including Nourouz Ahmed, Sozdar Haji, Khalisa Ayd, and media office spokesperson Roken Jamal, in addition to the Minister of Interior of the Syrian Interim Government, Anas Hassan, concluded that discussions are still ongoing, and that the status of the units will be handled as an exceptional case that takes into account the specificity of the Kurdish region.

According to the source, the Women's Protection Units are expected to maintain their position as special counter-terrorism units within the structure of the Ministry of Interior, though the final decision has not yet been made.

This recognition comes in the context of the January 29 agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Interim Government.
