Yemen - Human and women’s rights activists and NGOs have launched a solidarity campaign for Intisar al-Hammadi, who has been held in Yemen’s prison for 94 days by Yemen’s Huthi de facto authorities and there is no accusation against her yet. Even if a prosecutor demanded the release of the Yemeni model, she has been held in prison.

A delegation consists of human rights activists visited Intisar al-Hammadi in the central prison in Sana’a. After the visit, the activists announced that Intisar al-Hammadi doesn’t have any information about the accusations against her and that she stated she didn’t do anything to constitute a crime.

Intisar al-Hammadi was arrested by plainclothes security forces at a checkpoint in Sana’a on 20 February. While detained, she was interrogated while blindfolded, physically and verbally abused, subjected to racist insults, and forced to “confess” to several offenses.

The human rights activists demand the immediate release of Intisar al-Hammadi.
