Soheila Golestani nominated for Asia Pacific Screen Awards
Iranian actress Soheila Golestani has been nominated for Best Actress at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards for her role in “The Seed of the Sacred Fig”, a film directed by Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof.

Iranian actress Soheila Golestani has been nominated for Best Actress at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards for her role in “The Seed of the Sacred Fig”, a film directed by Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof.
The nomination comes as Soheila Golestani faces pressure from security forces in Iran due to her support of the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” protests that sparked in Iran following the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini in Tehran.
The ability of Soheila Golestani to attend the award ceremony remains uncertain due to security concerns.
“The Seed of the Sacred Fig” is a 2024 political thriller and drama film written and directed by Mohammad Rasoulof. It stars Soheila Golestani, Missagh Zareh, Mahsa Rostami and Setareh Maleki.
The film premiered at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on May 24, 2024.
