Sit-in protest of Şenyaşar family enters its 662nd day
On the 662nd day of the Şenyaşar family, Emine Şenyaşar repeated her demand for justice and demanded her voices be heard.
Riha - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç (Kurdish: Pirsûs) district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 662nd day.
Making a speech today in front of the courthouse, Emine Şenyaşar stated that they have been subjected to legal persecution throughout 2022. “This persecution must end in 2023 so that my son can come home (Fadıl Şenyaşar, who has been held in prison for more than four years). We demand justice. Everyone who has been unjustly held in prison must be released,” she said in her speech.

“The persecution that continues in front of the courthouse has reached its highest level. The AKP MPs, who remain silent against the mother’s calls for justice, cannot go out in public,” the Şenyaşar family posted on their social media account today.
