Sit-in protest of Şenyaşar family enters its 409th day
Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have demanded justice for their killed relatives for 409 days.
Riha - The sit-in protest, also known as “Justice Watch”, started in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out on June 14, 2018, in the Suruç district of Urfa province by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, has continued on its 409th day.
In the morning, the mother and son came in front of the courthouse to keep holding their sit-in protest by holding a banner reading, “They killed my husband and two sons! There is not a single arrestee. One of my sons has been held in solitary confinement for four years by the orders of superiors. I demand the immediate release of my son. Justice for the Şenyaşar family, justice for everyone.”
“The mirror of justice in Turkey reflects the injustice in front of the Şanlıurfa Courthouse. One day, all prosecutors who have covered up the massacre at the hospital will be held accountable before the independent judiciary,” the Şenyaşar family posted on their social media accounts.
