Sit-in protest for justice enters its 497th day: Release my son
On the 497th day of the sit-in protest held by the Şenyaşar family, Emine Şenyaşar demanded the release of her son Fadıl Şenyaşar, who has been kept in a solitary cell for more than four years.
Riha - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar continues on its 497th day today.
Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have been holding their sit-in protest in front of the courthouse holding a banner reading, “Our sit-in protest for justice, a dignified life and a fair trial is on its 497th day.”
“My son should be released”
Today, Emine Şenyaşar demanded the release of her son Fadıl Şenyaşar again. “We are waiting for justice here. We have held our sit-in protest for almost two years. I demand the immediate release of my son. My son has been kept in a solitary cell for years. I can barely see now. Justice should be delivered so that we can go home. My son has been held hostage. Why are those who killed my family members free now? They should be punished now and the member of parliament should be stripped of his MP status,” Emine Şenyaşar said.
“Our sit-in protest for justice, a dignified life and a fair trial is on its 497th day,” the Şenyaşar family posted today on their social media account by tagging the official accounts of the Ministry of Justice, Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ and Urfa Governor Salih Ayhan.
