Sit-in protest for justice enters its 372nd day

Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have held a sit-in protest in front of the Urfa Courthouse demanding justice for their killed relatives for 372 days.

Riha - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out on June 14, 2018, in Suruç by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, has entered its 372nd day.

“My children were killed in front of everybody”

Stating that her sit-in protest continues under persecution, Emine Şenyaşar said, “We have held our protest for more than a year. We will keep staying here until the people who killed my children are arrested. I demand the release of my son (Fadıl Şenyaşar). My son has been held in solitary confinement for about four years. My children were wounded at their workplace and they were transferred to the hospital. They should have been protected at the hospital by the state. But they were killed in front of everyone at the hospital. The camera recordings of the hospital were stolen, everyone knows that. Erdoğan also knows that my children were innocent and killed. The whole world heard our voice; does not Erdoğan hear our voice? Emine Erdoğan also has children.”

“Where are the prosecutors of the state?”

“It has been 365+7 days in front of the Şanlıurfa Courthouse. The governor, the prosecutor, and the people of Urfa also know who killed her husband and two sons at the hospital. Every citizen at the hospital is under the guarantee of the state. The mother is in front of the courthouse, where are the prosecutors of the state?” the Şenyaşar family posted on their social media account today.
