Sit-in protest for justice enters its 367th day

Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has held a sit-in protest in front of the Urfa Courthouse seeking justice for their killed relatives.

Riha- The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out on June 14, 2018, in Suruç by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, has entered its 366th day today. Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar came to the “Şenyaşar family justice corner” in front of the Urfa courthouse from their house in the Suruç district in the morning. They held a banner reading, “They killed my husband and two sons! There is not a single arrestee. One of my sons has been held in solitary confinement for four years by the orders of superiors. I demand the immediate release of my son. Justice for the Şenyaşar family, justice for everyone.”

“We will prevail against the law of the superiors”

“Yesterday, we held our sit-in protest with human rights defenders. Today, we will hold the protest with the president of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations and heads of Bar Associations in the region. We began our protest as two persons, tomorrow we will be millions. We will prevail against the law of the superiors,” the Şenyaşar family posted on their social media account.

Erinç Sağkan, president of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations (TBB) and heads of Bar Association in the region will visit the Şenyaşar family today.
