Sit-in protest for justice enters its 189th day
Şenyaşar family has demanded justice for 189 days. Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar wants their voices to be heard.
Riha- Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, have held a sit-in protest in front of Urfa Courthouse to demand justice for 189 days.
On the 198th day of their protest, Emine Şenyaşar and Ferit Şenyaşar went in front of the courthouse to hold their protest in the morning.
Ferit Şenyaşar made a speech in front of the courthouse and said that what they are doing in front of the courthouse is not only a sit-in protest but also a struggle for justice. Ferit Şenyaşar recalled the legal case opened against her mother Emine Şenyaşar, “Just following this cruelty is not enough, only justice can end this cruelty.”
“Justice will prevail”
“Bar associations in Turkey will not stay silent against this injustice, this unlawfulness. The members of the bar associations will hold a march to Urfa Courthouse on November 12 (when the first hearing of the trial opened against Emine Şenyaşar will be held). The defense will end this cruelty. We are hopeful. We will prevail, justice will prevail,” says the tweet posted by the Şenyaşar family.
