Sit-in protest for justice continues on its 142nd day
Members of Eğitim Sen Diyarbakır Branches No. 1, 2, and 3 visited Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who have held a sit-in protest in front of the Urfa Courthouse demanding justice for 142 days.
Riha – The sit-in protest for justice staged by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, has entered its 142nd day. The Şenyaşar family went in front of the Urfa Courthouse to keep holding their protest after talking with Fadıl Şenyaşar, who has been held in a single cell of Elazığ Prison for three years. Today, a delegation consists of the members of Eğitim Sen (Education and Science Workers' Union) Diyarbakır Branches No. 1, 2 and 3 visited Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar to support them.
Şenyaşar family held placards reading, “Justice for my killed sons, justice for everyone”, “We demand justice”.
“There is no justice in this country”
Emine Şenyaşar informed the delegation about the massacre carried out against her family on June 14, 2018, and their struggle for justice. “Those who killed us walk freely in Suruç. Follow them, not us. There is no justice in this country,” Emine Şenyaşar told police officers who recorded them.”
