Hewlêr (Erbil)- Turkish military operations and attacks launched in April on the territories of the Kurdistan Region still continue. Activist Awaz Şêrzad drew attention to the great destruction caused by the attacks in Biradost and Sîdekan areas and called on citizens and the international community to raise their voices against the ongoing attacks.

Recalling that the attacks also destroy the ecology of the region, Awaz Şêrzad stated that the support of the KDP is a great misfortune and causes great damage to society. “The attacks negatively affect our society in many aspects. The support of some political parties to the attacks carried out on our territories breaks the unity of our people. For years, Turkey has tried to occupy our region but it has been defeated. But now, it tries to occupy our region with the support of the KDP.”

“The attacks destroy both economy and ecology”

Emphasizing that the attacks destroy the nature of the region and force the citizens to maintain their lives under threat, Awaz Şêrzad added, “The villagers face great damage because their vineyards and fields are shelled. The attacks destroy both economy and ecology of the region.”

“The regional government paves the way for the occupation”

Pointing out that the Kurdistan Regional Government paves the way for the occupation of the Kurdistan Region, Awaz Şêrzad said, “Everyone knows that our citizens leave cities in spring and they go to plateaus, their vineyards, and fields. Our citizens are now under bombardment. The Kurdistan Regional Government paves the way for the bombardment and the occupation.”

Awaz  Şêrzad called on the Kurdish people to take action and the international community to break their silence against the ongoing attacks in the region. “Silence strengthens the colonialists,” she added.
