Shengal Autonomous Administration: We will realize our renaissance

“We will continue to build a democratic society and realize our renaissance,” said a statement issued by the Shengal Autonomous Administration regarding the message of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan for the Yazidi people.

Shengal- The Shengal Autonomous Administration issued a statement regarding the message of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan for the Yazidi community.  

“The Yazidi people have got great morale and strength from the message sent by Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan,” said the statement read by Cihan Celo, Co-chair of Shengal Autonomous Administration Council. “He offers us the perspective of strengthening the Yazidis and adopting the philosophy of freedom so that no more genocidal attacks will be committed against us. In his letter, leader Apo said, ‘This call is a renaissance, especially for the Yazidi people’.

‘The freedom of the Yazidi people is possible with the freedom of leader Apo’

The letter written by Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan has penetrated into the souls of the people of Shengal like any of three radiations of heat falling in succession from the sun to the air in spring, Cihan Celo said. “This message beautifies Shengal like flowers blooming in the warmth of the sun. This message has opened the door for the Yazidi community to emerge from darkness into light. The perspective in the letter raises the Yazidi community's hope for freedom in the future. It is time for Yazidis to be free. The Yazidi community looks at the future with hope and builds its freedom with the ‘Democratic Society’ principle put forward by leader Apo. The freedom of the Yazidi people is possible with the freedom of leader Apo.”

Cihan Celo also commented on the birthday of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan on April 4. “We welcome April 4th with great enthusiasm and excitement. April 4th symbolizes freedom and resistance against slavery, despair and surrender. We will continue to build a democratic society and realize our renaissance.”
