Sêvê Demir’s mother: “Thousands were killed, thousands come”

Sakine Demir, the mother of Sêvê Demir, who was killed in Silopi, visited the family of Deniz Poyraz to express her condolence. “Thousands Sêvê, Fatma, Pakize, Deniz were killed but thousands come,” Sakine Demir said.

 

Izmir – A tent was set up for Deniz Poyraz, who was killed in the attack on the office of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) in Izmir, in front of the HDP representative office in Çimentepe Doğa neighborhood of Izmir’s Konak district to accept condolences. Deniz Poyraz’s parents Fehime and Abdülillah Poyraz, HDP Izmir MPs Serpil Kemalbay and Murat Çepni and the party members are in the tent to accept condolences. Republican People's Party (CHP) Women and Family Commission members Figen Nazife Karahan, Tuğba Dönmez and Kimet Batmaz visited the tent to express their condolences.

Visit from Sêvê Demir’s mother

Sakine Demir, the mother of the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Parliament member Sêvê Demir, who was killed along with Free Woman Congress (KJA) member Fatma Uyar, and Silopi People’s Assembly Co-chair Pakize Nayır during the twenty-four-hour curfew imposed in the Silopi district of Şırnak province, also visited the tent to express her condolence.

“Kurdish people continue to pay a price”

Stating that the Kurdish people continue to pay a price, Sakine Demir said, “Sêvê, Hevrin Xelef, Deniz, Pakize, Fatma and thousands were killed but thousands come to take their places.” Emphasizing that the Kurdish people need to strengthen their unity for freedom, Sakine added, “The Kurdish people have resisted for thousands of years and will continue to resist. I believe that the victory will be our people, martyrs are immortal.”
