News Center- Sepideh Gholian, an Iranian activist and political prisoner, was released from Evin prison on Wednesday.

Although Sepideh Gholian had completed her two-year prison sentence, she was held in prison for nearly three additional months without legal explanation.

On March 14, 2023, Sepideh Gholian was released from Evin Prison. Following her release, she removed her hijab and chanted, “Khamenei, you oppressor, we will bury you in the ground,” in front of the prison. On March 15, 2023, she was rearrested. She was sentenced to two years in prison on charges of “insulting the supreme leader” in May 2023.
