Sandstorm closes schools, offices and airports in Iraq

The latest sandstorm in Iraq causes the closure of schools and offices, and the cancellation of flights.

News Center- Sandstorms have been becoming a part of life in Iraq. The latest sandstorm began in the country in the morning causing the closure of state schools and offices, and the cancellation of flights.

Hundreds of people in Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region went to hospitals with breathing difficulties. In the morning, the Education Ministry declared a day off for the state schools.  Baghdad International Airport and Sulaymaniyah International Airport have closed their airspaces and halted all flights until further notice because of low visibility.
