Sammi Deen Baloch released from prison

Sammi Deen Baloch, a leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), has been released after eight days of detention in Pakistan.

News Center- Sammi Deen Baloch, a leader of the Balochistan Unity Committee (Balochistan Yakjehti Committee, BYC), has been released after eight days of detention in Pakistan, her sister, Mehlab Baloch announced on social media platform X on Tuesday.

On the same day, Baloch people held a protest, demanding the immediate release of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, a women’s human rights defender.

On March 21, three people were killed and seven others were injured by police during a protest in Quetta, Pakistan’s Balochistan province.

On March 22, the Balochistan Unity Committee (Balochistan Yakjehti Committee, BYC) called for a sit-in and a general strike in the province to protest the killing of civilians. However, Pakistani police attacked the protesters while participating in the peaceful sit-in protest in Quetta, Balochistan, arresting dozens, including Sammi Deen Baloch, Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Lala Wahab Baloch.
