“Safe travel is my right” campaign launched in Tunisia

The Centre for Research, Studies, Documentation and Information on Women (CREDIF) has announced that they have launched the “Safe travel is my right” campaign in Tunisia.

Tunisia- The Centre for Research, Studies, Documentation, and Information on Women (CREDIF) has announced its campaign called, “Safe travel is my right” under the leadership of the Ministry of Women, Family, Children, and Seniors (MFFES) to ensure the safe travel of women in public transport vehicles. The campaign will reportedly continue until mid-December.

Banners have been hung across country

As part of the “Safe travel is my right” campaign, banners started to be hung in most of the cities yesterday (November 16). The banners announcing the campaign have been hung on the walls of the stations of bus, metro, and all public transportation vehicles. A press conference was held in the country to announce the campaign.

“1899 Hotline” against harassment on public transportation

At the meeting, the MFFES announced its 1899 Hotline to provide free counseling and guidance services to women who have been subjected to violence on public transportation in Tunisia.

Many women face harassment and violence

Many women’s organizations in Tunisia have drawn attention to the harassment faced by women on public transportation. The campaign is expected to end violence and harassment against women on public transportation.
