News Center- 26-year-old Rojvelat Kızmaz went missing on February 9, 2024 after leaving her home in Êlih (Batman). On the same day, the Kızmaz family reported their daughter missing.

‘We looked for her everywhere’

In an interview with Mesopotamia Agency (MA), Rojvelat Kızmaz’s brother Mehmet Kızmaz said that they found his sister’s clothes and belongings near the Hasankeyf Dam. “Although we reported her missing to the police station on February 9, no search efforts have been started. We looked for her everywhere in Batman for three days. Although we reported to the police that my sister might have gone to Hasankeyf on the day she went missing, no search efforts were started there.

 After the Kızmaz family went to Hasankeyf and found Rojvelat Kızmaz’s clothes and belongings there, they demanded a search be started in the dam with a boat; however, they were told, “The captain is out of the city”. “After we found her clothes and belongings near the dam, a search effort was started but it lasted short. Despite our insistence, the search effort was stopped,” Mehmet Kızmaz told MA.
