RJAK announces its program for IWD

The Kurdistan Free Women's Movement (RJAK) has announced that they will organize seminars and marches to mark the International Women’s Day (IWD).

Sulaymaniyah- The Kurdistan Free Women’s Movement (Rêxistina Jinên Azad ên Kurdistan -RJAK), the Women’s Council of the Freedom Movement (Tevgera Azadi) released a joint statement in front of the Azadi Park of Sulaymaniyah yesterday at noon to announce their program for the International Women’s Day. The movements announced that they would not hold any celebrations this year due to the earthquakes that struck Turkey, Kurdistan and Syria. Instead of celebrations, the women will organize seminars and marches to mark the International Women’s Day and to say no to violence against women.

The program is as follows:

· On March 2, we will visit the families of martyrs.

· On March 5, Kongra Star will hold a seminar at the Xak Hall.

· On March 6, we will visit women workers and employers. We will give them roses. On the same day, we will plant 17 seedlings and light 17 candles at the Hewarî Şar Park for Jina Mahsa Amînî.

·  On March 8, we will hold a march from Seholkê to Nil Park.

We will continue to work

RJAK member Banû Helepçeyî said that they would not organize any celebration due to the earthquakes but they would continue to work.
