News Center – The outbreak of war in Gaza constituted a decisive turning point that led to wide waves of bombardment and service collapse, pushing civilians to face a continuous rise in the number of victims and displacement, amid the continuation of attacks and the widening scope of the humanitarian crisis in various areas of the Strip.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza, Palestine, announced today, Monday, 21 September, that the death toll from the war in the Strip since the seventh of October 2023 has risen to 73,914 dead.

It also reported that 17 injured people arrived at hospitals without clarifying the circumstances of their injury, at a time when Israeli forces continue their attacks despite the ceasefire agreement in effect since the tenth of October 2023. Israeli violations of the agreement have resulted in the killing of 1,394 Palestinians and the injury of 4,839 others.

The total number of injured since the beginning of the war has risen to 174,952 people, most of them women and children. Alongside the human losses, the Ministry indicated that Israeli attacks have destroyed about 90% of civilian infrastructure.

New Victims

On the ground, three Palestinians, including a child and a woman, were killed and others injured today as a result of Israeli shelling and gunfire in various areas of the Strip. Ambulance crews transferred the body of the child Ismail Al-Bardawil to Nasser Medical Complex after he was hit by a bullet in the chest fired by Israeli vehicles in the Fish Fish area of Mawasi Rafah in the southern Strip.

Injuries were recorded in Hamad City, the Industrial Area, Qizan Abu Rashwan in Khan Younis, in addition to a woman and a child injured on Salah al-Din Road between Al-Bureij and Al-Maghazi camps. Two people were also injured by an artillery shell that targeted a house east of Al-Bureij camp, causing a fire to break out, and two others were injured by a shell that fell near the tents of displaced people west of Khan Younis city.

Israeli forces continue artillery shelling and gunfire in eastern and southern Khan Younis, the vicinity of Bani Suheila roundabout and Qizan Al-Najjar, along with north of Al-Bureij camp, east of Jabalia, and east of Gaza City, while Israeli warships fired shells toward the Gaza sea, simultaneously with gunfire at the tents of displaced people in Mawasi Rafah and Mawasi Khan Younis.

On the humanitarian side, the World Food Programme announced the reduction of some of its services and cash assistance codes, simultaneously with rising unemployment and high prices, which increases the living pressures on residents and displaced people in the Strip.
