News Center- The City Mayors Foundation has awarded The World Mayor Prize and Commendations since 2004.  Every two years, the World Mayor Project features some of the world’s most outstanding mayors, mayors who have served their fellow citizens with integrity, courage, and diligence. The 2021 World Mayor Awards have been awarded to nine mayors who have been showing leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic and who are now aiming to make their cities more resilient economically, structurally, socially, and environmentally. Raqqa mayor Leila Mustapha has been granted the 2021 World Mayor Jury Award for “her efforts to rebuild Raqqa after the occupation by Islamic State (ISIS).”

Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş has been granted the World Mayor Capital Award while Rotterdam Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb has been granted 2021 World Mayor Prize.
