Prison sentence against 15 Kurdish politicians in Mardin
The final hearing of the KCK trial filed against 15 Kurdish politicians in Mardin in 2014 was held yesterday. 15 Kurdish politicians receive prison terms on charges of “membership in a (terrorist) organization”.
News Center- The final hearing of the KCK trial filed against 15 Kurdish politicians in Mardin was held yesterday by the Mardin 2nd High Criminal Court.
The names of 15 Kurdish politicians are: Nazım Kök, Davut Bozan, İpek Güneş, Ayşe Bozan, Ziver Gümüş, İsa Durç, Lokman Ekenek, Abdulkadir Aktaş, Erdal Irmak, Davut Şahin, Musa Alkan, Sedat Dağ, Mesut Amak, Genco Akman and former Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MP Gülser Yıldırım.
15 Kurdish politicians did not attend the hearing while their lawyers were present.
Giving its opinion at the hearing, the prosecution demanded prison terms against the Kurdish politicians on charges of “membership in a (terrorist) organization”.
The court has sentenced Lokman Ekenek, Davut Şahin, Nazım Kök, Ziver Gümüş, Davut Bozan, İpek Güneş and Ayşe Bozan to seven years and six months in prison for each. Musa Alkan and İsa Durç have been sentenced to six years, 10 months and 15 days in prison. Genco Akman, Sedat Dağ, Gülser Yıldırım, Mesut Amak, Abdulkadir Aktaş and Erdal Irmak have been sentenced to six years and three months in prison.
