Police raids in Istanbul: At least 17 people detained

Turkish police raided some houses in Istanbul as part of an investigation. At least 17 people, including the members of the HDK, HDP and Green Left Party, have been detained.

News Center- After the detention operations against journalists, lawyers, theatre artists and political activists in Amed (Diyarbakır) and Ankara, Turkish police raided some houses in Istanbul’s Başakşehir, Esenyurt, Arnavutköy and Küçükçekmecer districts in the morning as part of an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

 At least 17 people, including the members of the People's Democratic Congress (HDK), Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and Party of Greens and the Left Future (Green Left Party), have been detained.

The names of detained people who have been taken to the Istanbul Security Directorate in Vatan Street, are: Devin Doğa Ayaz, Hülya İlyas, Serkan Şengül, Eylem Taşdemir, Mustafa Şişman, Serhat Tokuş, Arafat Emekçileri, Tufan Emekçileri, Erkan Özmen, Cevdet Biçer, Yunus Aslan, Berfin Koçak, Hividar Özdemir, Ömer Gülsül, Mervan Beyret, Adem Özgen and Onur İlbars. The content of the investigation is still unknown because a confidentiality order has been issued on the investigation. A 24-hour lawyer restriction has been also imposed on the people held in custody.
