People of Yazd read most in Iran

Yazd city ranks first in the book reading statistics by the Statistical Centre of Iran while Bushehr ranks last in the list.

News Center- The Statistical Center of Iran released their latest data on Iranian reading habits. According to the center, the literacy rate in the country is above 85%. On average, Iranians aged above 15 spend 15 minutes and 31 seconds daily, “Each Iranian aged over 15 spend six hours and five minutes reading textbooks, one hour and eight minutes reading newspapers and one minute reading magazines per month. A 15-year-old Iranian reads mostly textbooks (60%).”

Monthly book reading statistics Iranian cities are as follows (per person);

Yazd: 25 hours and 16 minutes

Qom: 25 hours and two minutes

Qazvin: Five hours and 50 minutes

Kermanshah: Three hours and 40 minutes

Kohgiluyeh Province: Three hours and three minutes

Boyer-Ahmad Province: Two hours and 40 minutes

Bushehr ranks last in the list.
