Makhmur - The massacre that took place in the Perax village of Zakho and killed nine civilians, was protested in the Makhmur refugee camp.
Speaking on behalf of the Makhmur People's Assembly, Bêwar Ünver condemned the massacre and said, “The occupying Turkish state committed a massacre in the village of Perex, which is known as a picnic area. Nine civilians were killed in the massacre. As the people of the Makhmur refugee camp, we express our condolences to the families of the citizens, who lost their lives and to the Iraqi people and condemn the massacre.”
“We should unite against attacks”
Emphasizing that the Turkish state continue to carry out attacks in the region, Bêwar Ünver continued to speak as follows:
“The occupying Turkish state continues to carry out its reckless attacks all over Kurdistan. Genocidal attacks have been carried out in Kurdistan, Rojava, Shengal and Makhmur. Today, we are here to protest the Turkish attack in Zakho. As long as the world remains silent, such attacks will continue. The Turkish state will continue to carry out its reckless attacks if the attacks and massacres are not prevented. If the international community had taken a firm stance against the Turkish attacks, nine people would not have been killed in Zakho. The international community should show their reactions immediately and unite to prevent possible attacks and massacres.”
The protest ended after the people shouted slogans condemning the Turkish state.
