Peace Mothers protest Turkey’s operation

The Istanbul Peace Mothers Initiative protesting Turkey’s cross-border operation reacted to Barzani by saying “Get your hands off our blood”.

Istanbul – The members of the Istanbul Peace Mothers Initiative gathered in front of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Kanarya office to hold a march in the Kanarya neighborhood of Istanbul’s Küçükçekmece district to protest the operation launched by Turkey in the Kurdistan Region with the support of the KDP. But police blocked the mothers from marching.

The Peace Mothers reacted to the police block by saying, “We demand peace, you should also demand peace” and started a sit-in protest in front of the HDP Kanarya office.

Peace Mother Aklime Keskin made a speech and said that they demand peace, not war. “Enough is enough. The war is endless; there are no winners in war. Shedding blood is not a good thing. All peoples of the world should raise a united voice and demand peace. I am calling on Barzani; get your hands off our blood. No more people should die.”

The protest ended by the mothers clapped their hands.
