Over 100 Dead and Injured in 24 hours
In the past 24 hours, Israeli strikes on southern Gaza killed 32 people—including 12 children and eight women—and injured more than 88 others, according to the Gaza Civil Defense today.
News Center —The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that since the ceasefire began on October 11, the total number of deaths in the Strip has reached 312, while the total number of injuries has risen to 760, noting that 572 bodies have been recovered.
On the 42nd day of the ceasefire in Gaza, Israeli forces carried out overnight strikes on several areas of the Strip, killing five people, including a one-year-old girl, according to the Civil Defense in Gaza on Thursday, November 20. This brings the number of people killed by Israeli strikes to 32, including 12 children and 8 women, and more than 88 injured within the past 24 hours — the deadliest day since the ceasefire took effect.
The recent Israeli strikes over the past two days have revived fear and anxiety among the residents of the devastated and besieged Strip, who worry that the war— which began on October 7, 2023 — may reignite. That war resulted in the killing of no fewer than 69,546 people, most of them women and children, according to data from the Ministry of Health in Gaza, numbers the United Nations considers credible. The conflict has inflicted massive destruction across the Strip and triggered a severe humanitarian crisis, prompting the UN to declare famine in parts of Gaza.
