‘North Gaza has barely any health services left’

Two WHO missions to northern Gaza were denied or impeded on Thursday, the World Health Organization announced on Thursday, stressing that North Gaza has barely “any health services left”.

News Center- Since Israel started a war in the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, Israeli attacks have targeted women and children, forcing them to be displaced multiple times. At least 400,000 people are trapped in the area, Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), said Wednesday in a post on X.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, announced in a post on X that two WHO missions to northern Gaza were denied or impeded on Thursday.

In the post, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said:

We urge Israel to:

- Stop evacuation orders, and protect hospitals. North Gaza has barely any health services left.

- Facilitate humanitarian missions. Lives depend on it.

-  Work towards a ceasefire. All people trapped in this conflict need peace.
