Murder case of Gulistan Tara and Hêro Behadîn to be brought to international court
European journalists visited the Chatr Multimedia Production Company that Gulistan Tara and Hêro Behadîn worked for and said that they would bring their murder case to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Sulaymaniyah- A group of European journalists went to Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, upon the call of the Kurdish Women Journalists’ Association (Kurdish: Komeleya Rojnamevanên Jin, ROJIN) and the he Kurdistan Journalists' Initiative. The delegation will pay visits in the city for three days.
The delegation consisting of Alice Magar, Emma Audrey, Dilêr Akreyî, Hendrin Faraj Muhammed, Jallan Ziaei and Devrim Alp visited Monday the Chatr Multimedia Production Company that Gulistan Tara and Hêro Behadîn worked for. They had a conversation with the employees of the company about the importance of the role of journalists.
The delegation also emphasized that they would bring the murder case of Gulistan Tara and Hêro Behadîn to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
On August 23,2024, a Turkish drone targeted a vehicle carrying journalists in the Said Sadiq district of Sulaymaniyah, killing Gülistan Tara and Hêro Bahadîn, two women journalists.
