News Center- Mesopotamia Female Journalists’ Platform made a written statement for International Women’s Day. “We existed, we exist, we will exist,” female journalists say in the statement, “As female journalists, we welcome International Women’s Day with hope and faith despite ongoing violence against women and femicide. We say, ‘We are here, we are always all together. Last year, we tried to report the truths, showed the women’s resistance while women never kept silent against press outlets dominated by men.
“A country can’t be free unless the women are free”
“As women, who believe that a country cannot be free unless the women are free, we tried to be everywhere from Argentina to India, from Izmir to Batman while the burden of women increased due to the Covid-19 pandemic, women’s rights were discussed, women’s deaths were legitimized. We tell women, who take to the streets for their rights, that we are here and we will always be here. We know that no woman's story will be left uncompleted and a woman can change everything if she wants. We have witnessed that many times and we have reported that many times. Resistance beautifies women, changes the world and allows us to report this moment.”
