Riha - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 529th day. In the morning, the mother and her son came in front of the courthouse from their home in the Suruç district of Urfa province to demand justice again. The family members have been prevented by police from holding their sit-in protest in the shade at the entrance of the courthouse since August 8. Today, the members of the Lawyers’ Association for Freedom (ÖHD) Urfa Branch visited the Şenyaşar family to support their struggle for justice.

Today, the Şenyaşar family wrote a social media post reading, “Today, together with our lawyers, we will look for an interlocutor in front of the courthouse regarding our case, in which a confidentiality order has been issued for four years. The mother (Emine Şenyaşar) is in the courthouse, the situation in the courthouse is extraordinary!”
