News Center - A mass grave was discovered in the Sîba Şêx Xidir region, south of Shengal. The mass grave was discovered yesterday when residents working with excavators in the area discovered clothing, belongings, and human remains.

An identification document belonging to Seydo Ebas Çûko, a resident of Sîba Şêx Xidir, who had been missing since the August 3, 2014, genocide, was discovered in the grave. Subsequent excavations revealed the presence of a mass grave.

Following the discovery of the mass grave, families of the victims of the genocide and civil society organizations in Shengal arrived at the scene. The relevant institutions are expected to conduct an investigation today.
