Mass grave discovered during excavation in Shengal
A mass grave belonging to an ISIS massacre was discovered in the Sîba Şêx Xidir region during excavations by residents trying to rebuild their homes in Shengal.

An identification document belonging to Seydo Ebas Çûko, a resident of Sîba Şêx Xidir, who had been missing since the August 3, 2014, genocide, was discovered in the grave. Subsequent excavations revealed the presence of a mass grave.
Following the discovery of the mass grave, families of the victims of the genocide and civil society organizations in Shengal arrived at the scene. The relevant institutions are expected to conduct an investigation today.
