News Center- Maryam Karimi, a tour guide and resident of Rasht, began to serve her two-year and seven-month sentence with electronic monitoring on June 25, 2025.

Maryam Karimi was arrested in a house raid by Iran’s security forces. After being informed about the charges against her, she was released on bail.

In May 2025, she received a two-year and seven-month sentence with electronic monitoring on charges of “encouraging corruption and prostitution by calling for a civil disobedience”, “posting indecent photos” and “propaganda against the system”.
