Maryam Jalal Hosseini returns to Kachoui prison in Karaj
Maryam Jalal Hosseini, a teachers' union activist and political prisoner, returned to Kachoui prison in Karaj on Monday after the completion of her medical leave.

News Center- Maryam Jalal Hosseini, a teachers' union activist and political prisoner, returned to Kachoui prison in Karaj on Monday after the completion of her medical leave.
The activist has been suffering from severe gastrointestinal and dental problems. She was temporarily released from Kachoui prison on May 14, 2025, after being granted a medical leave.
In September 2023, Maryam Jalal Hosseini was arrested along with Fatemeh (Mojgan) Tadrisi, teachers’ union activists and transferred to Kachoui prison in Karaj. In January 2024, the activists were sentenced to six years in prison on charges of “inciting people to violence”, “Propaganda against the regime” , “insulting the Supreme Leader” and “forming groups to act against national security” by the Revolutionary Court in Karaj.
The court also ruled that Maryam Jalal Hosseini and Fatemeh (Mojgan) Tadrisi to spend two years in exile after their release.
