Mardin Co-mayor visits Dersim Municipality

Devrim Demir, Co-mayor of the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality, visited Dersim Municipality, pointing to the importance of solidarity.

News Center- Devrim Demir, Co-mayor of the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality, visited Birsen Orhan and Cevdet Konak, Co-mayors of  the Dersim Municipality on Wednesday. Devrim Demir made a speech, pointing to the importance of solidarity.

‘We have no city to leave to the mercy of the system’

Stressing that Dersim Municipality is not a municipality that they took over from state-appointed trustees, Devrim Demir said, “But there is a special orientation to this region. Therefore, we usually visit the municipality. Because we have no city, no municipality or village to leave to the mercy of the system. Dêrsim is important for us, like all cities in Kurdistan.”

‘Such visits give us strength’

The election process took place in a difficult period, Cevdet Konak said, noting that the Peoples' Democracy and Equality Party (DEM Party) will be in solidarity with municipalities in other regions. Birsen Orhan thanked Devrim Demir for her visit and also pointed to the importance of solidarity among municipalities.

“Such visits give us strength. The resistance in Van was the response to those who use trustees as a stick in their hands. We will never give an opportunity to usurpers and profiteers anymore.”
