Makhmur (Maxmur)- A march was held in the Makhmur refugee camp to protest the aggravated isolation imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan with the participation of hundreds of people living in the camp. The march started in front of the Martyrs Families’ Institution and ended in front of the UN Makhmur office. After the march, Filiz Budak, Co-chair of the People's Assembly of the Makhmur refugee camp, made a speech on behalf of the people participating in the march.
“An aggravated isolation has been implemented in Imrali for 23 years”
Speaking about the aggravated isolation imposed on Abdullah Öcalan, Filiz Budak said, “We will keep demanding the freedom of leader Apo (Abdullah Öcalan). Only leader Apo can untie the inextricable knot in the Middle East. An aggravated isolation has been implemented in Imrali for 23 years. Leader Apo exhibits a strong resistance against this isolation. Leader Apo resists the occupying states despite the difficult conditions and isolation faced by him. His resistance and will is a resistance and will that cannot be understood by the human mind. The enemy uses chemical weapons and brutal methods in order to annihilate the Kurdish people and freedom fighters.”
The protest ended after the speech of Filiz Budak.
