Shahba- Displaced people of Afrin held a march in the Til Koçker village of Shahba to protest the ongoing siege imposed by the Syrian government on the region. Holding placards and banners, the people march until the checkpoint of the Syrian army.

At the checkpoint, the people observed a minute’s silence for those who lost their lives while fighting for freedom. Bêrîvan Xelîl, member of the Shahba-Afrin Diplomacy Office of the Autonomous Administration, read the press statement on behalf of the people.

Recalling that 3,000 families came to Shahba from Aleppo, Bêrîvan Xelîl said in the statement that the Syrian government does not allow the aid sent from the Autonomous Administration to the earthquake victims.

Calling on the Syrian government to open roads, Bêrîvan Xelîl said, “We are people from Afrin, Aleppo and Shahba who have been displaced from their homelands due to ongoing attacks by the Turkish state. As displaced people, we call on the Syrian government to overcome its political contradictions and open roads for humanitarian aid to all Syrian people and the displaced people living in Shahba. We call on the international organizations to urgently intervene in Shahba to heal the wounds of displaced people.”
