March by Baloch women in Islamabad to make their voice heard
Baloch women held a march on Sunday, demanding the release of BYC leaders and an end to enforced disappearances against Baloch people.

News Center- The sit-in protest started by Baloch people in Islamabad against the Pakistan government’s forced disappearances of Baloch people and the arrest of Baloch activists and Baloch Yekjehti Committee (BYC) leaders was on its 26th day on Sunday.
On Sunday, Baloch women, the relatives of detained activists, held a march, carrying a banner reading, “Stop Collective Punishment, Release BYC activists”. After the march, they held their sit-in protest.
“Our aim is to raise awareness and make the longest, untold war faced by Baloch people heard all around the world,” they said in a statement. “These mothers have become symbols of courage and defiance by overcoming oppression. Every second of this sit-in protest shows the failure of this state, its media, its judiciary and its parliament.”
Amma Houri, mother of Gul Muhammad Marri who was subjected to enforced disappearance in custody by Pakistani forces on August 7, 2012, is one of the women holding the sit-in protest. Amma Houri demanded justice for her son and called for an end to the oppression of the Baloch people.
