News Center- Kurdish political prisoner Zeynab Jalalian, who has been imprisoned in Iran for 15 years and subjected to many ill-treatment in prison, transferred to many prisons and not allowed to see her family, wrote a letter on the occasion of 8 March, International Women’s Day.

The letter of Zeynab Jalalian is as follows:

“I heartily congratulate my mother, the women who wait for their loved ones, and all women in the world on 8 March, the International Women's Day. When we look at history, we see that women seeking freedom have always fought against dictatorship regimes and that these brave women went down in history with their blood on March 8. The tyrants! Don’t you see? You will not be able to stop, women by killing, torturing, and imprisoning us. When a woman begins her journey to freedom, no pressure can make her take a step back from her path.

“I was subjected to severe torture”

“I felt that when I was in the hands of the tyrants of the Islamic Republic. I was subjected to severe torture; my clothes were torn, my eyes were closed, my hands and feet were chained to bars. I was in so much pain that I couldn't feel it anymore. I couldn’t feel or control my body anymore.

“I had only my thoughts”

Yes, unfortunately, I went through such inhuman practices but I don't know the people who caused me to suffer this tragedy. Hey, awakened consciences, you have the right to blame them, people only demand freedom and equality. Blame them. 10 years ago, I wasn’t the person I am now. I have changed due to the torture I faced. When I was tortured, I had only my thoughts, beliefs, and my hope for struggling women and the future.

“Let's fight together against the tyrants”

Sometimes, I think about where I am in the world or where I am stuck in my time. No matter how I try, I will not find a way. Witnessing the execution of citizens and relatives and not breathing is what I deserve? I don’t want anyone to die, even if the tyrants. Let's fight together against the tyrants in order to kick the tyrants out of our country.”
